This role is really interesting. My client is a world renowned electronics
manufacturer. In order to establish a competitive edge, they develop mobile
and tablet products which have customer centred design at the centre of the
initial design concept. Within this competitive industry my client focuses
on some clear strategic objectives. These include, investing in new
technology, creating innovative products and creative solutions for their
end-users. With an impressive history of international strategic
acquisitions, my client has transformed into a top-selling electronics
manufacturer. They have secured a reputation for being one of the most
reputable companies in the world. Through continuous investment (Top-100
Advertiser) with a recorded marketing spend of £20,000,000 they have grown
into a multi-national conglomerate corporation. Some fantastic ideals drive
the business forward. Corporate Social Responsibility is at the centre of
their internal philosophy and their growth plans are coined within the motto
‘inspire the world and create the future’.
I am looking for a mid-weight Mobile UI Designer who will work
collaboratively with other designers and researchers, to develop usable
Mobile Interfaces for features, services and applications. This role will
require you to engage your creative thinking ability since you will be
involved at the conceptualisation stage within each stream of projects. You
will be involved in the discovery phases of each project, to help define the
brief and work through-out the lifecycle to produce the deliverable. The
role is weighted more toward the production of the deliverables, but you
will gain deep satisfaction from working in a collaborative environment,
managing external partners, producing high quality deliverables which form
the basis of your joint initial concept with other partners within the
business and working in a team who places customer centred design theory at
their centre of the projects. You will present directly to internal
stakeholders, and work closely with other researchers, designers, and
graphic designers to ensure that the projects all incorporate a consistent
and seamless User Experience.
More specifically, my client has provided an outline of the essential skills
required
· BA or MA in Multimedia design, Interaction Design, Information
Design. Graphic Design or Product Design
· Minimum of 4-5 years hands-on experience in interface design with
sound knowledge of user-centred design principles and usability
· Experience of working with multi-national companies and in
addition, design consultancies
· Must possess portfolio of original and personal Graphical user
interface design work with an array Graphical interface design experience.
(For example, experience in designing for mobile, small LCD’s, TV’s, Web,
etc)
· Strong visual presentation skills with an eye for detail and
accuracy a must
· Proficient to a high level in design packages such as Adobe
PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, etc
· Must demonstrate understanding of how market forces, user needs,
design, technology work together to produce an integrated user experience
· Must demonstrate creative and innovative approach to design
· Have a passion for design and a point of view about their work,
ability to encourage this in others
· Ability to work and communicate with other design functions
· Interest/Experience in Human Factors, human behaviour, field
observations & ethnographic research
