Hi Todd,
it depends* :)
For conceptual design:
- pencil and paper
- whiteboard/those clingy plastic sheets/butcher's paper
- Axure
- Visio
- MindManager Pro
For detailed design:
- Axure/Microsoft Word
- Visio
- OmniGraffle (yes, I like it now that I've gotten to use it!)
- PhotoShop/FireWorks/DreamWeaver
I've used heaps of other things over the years but that is about it for now.
* It depends on a lot of things, including required precision and
client preference.
