You may have partially answered your own question there. I personally
know of no SIGIA group on LinkedIn, but there is a UPA group.

And, some people don't like to become over-profiled and spread their
information out everywhere, so I think it boils down to personal
preference. It depends upon what your views are of each type of place and
what you want to get out of each.
