[Sigia-l] Common addressbook (non plus ultra)

Hi there,

I'm wondering if any of you could help me out finding the following.
Take LinkedIn in mind and think of it as an intranet tool for a large
organisation, like 20,000 people. Sounds useful, doesn't it.

I've been checking out Highrise from 37signals, since Basecamp has
proven to be such a useful tool for my own projects. Highrise is too
much focused on sales-reps, having a list of (shared) contacts, tasks
(to-dos) and cases (prospect projects).

What I'm looking for is an ASP solution or on site install of a
LinkedIn-alike tool, that allows employees to have shared contact
lists, INCLUDING descriptions of education, experience, capabilities,
lessons learnt, good practices, ... some sort of corporate yellow
pages, but smarter than the usual bespoke legacy IT drama.

Easy to use, for non-websavvy people, less buttons = more.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Best wishes,
