[Sigia-l] data intensive interface for competitive gamers
Greetings all,
I'm working on a site for hard-core, online gamers. The likely user is young, male and computer savvy. They are serious competitors; some are even (gasp) professional. The games are primarily Xbox 360 FPSs (first-person shooters like Halo2, Ghost Recon, etc.). (The site has no gaming intrinsically. It is purely driven for community and competition.) My focus is the competitive side: site features everything from team formation to drafting to scores, standings, ladders, tournaments, seedings and so on. The standard community components are established: blogs, chat, forums.
I'd like to hear from people who have worked on any sports or fantasy league projects. I'm also interested in hearing from anyone familiar with competitive, data-intensive UIs. Lastly, of course, hard-core gaming IAs are welcome to chime in too (no fragging!). You can post to the list or contact me direct: coolpillows_at_yahoo.com. Thanks in advance!
