Because many folks don't know and can't tell the difference between a
web browser and a search engine. They have no idea where one begins and
the other ends. I haven't sat in on thousands of usability studies, but
I have spent a lot of time teaching basic computer skills to older
family members and friends (in their 50s, 60s and 70s), and I've seen
this happen over and over again, even with folks who have been using
computers for years.)
