Hi Kathleen,
I totally understand where you are coming from with
the BA or Tech Writer track. If I were you, I
wouldn't want to pursue those directions, either.
Are you also looking at job titles like, "User
Experience Designer," "Interaction Designer," or "User
Interface Designers?" It seems like there is a
certain level of, shall I say, reverance, attached to
the title "Information Architect." That *may* be why
you only see senior-level postings. It seems like
there is a lot more diversity in the levels of people
they are looking for in those other job titles, but
those other roles are much closer than a BA title.
That's just my suggestion, and I have to admit I know
nothing about the NY IA community since I live in
Chicago. I feel your pain.
