I cringe when product managers say "<n> is alive and well" - especially
given the sometime contempt that Adobe has had for Macromedia. My guess
is that they will repurpose Fireworks as some kind of PS Lite and kill
it with needless feature creep to force people to go for the bloatware.
If my blog posting is approved, it will be my two cents worth for
posterity: "Fireworks is not PhotoShop ... PhotoShop does not need to be
jealous of Fireworks."

I'm not sure that Adobe ever really 'got' FrameMaker, and this does not
give me much confidence that they will successfully manage Fireworks
either. I think of several small tasks a week that work faster/easier in
Fireworks than in PhotoShop - guess which one I would like to still be
there for me in 12 months time?

Cheers, Andrew
