Hi Adam,

I have a small amount of experience in this - generally, we found that if we
made it worth their while (sign-up freebies and ongoing newsletter offers) then
we got more sign-ups.

Seth Godin has had a lot to say about this over the last few years - his books
are great for ROI argument cases to take to management.
