Think about it - what does a college student "need" to have open - a
working application (word), some music, the web, maybe email, and IM.
It fits based on their profile.

Now, enter the work world at the office. What do you "need" to have
open? A couple of work files (word, excel, access, illustrator,
quark, ppt, the intranet), maybe a web browser (intranet, ebay, jcrew
(yeah, you know you shop online at work)), email, and maybe some
music (winamp, itunes).

Context and audience.

Cheers!
