[Sigia-l] A CMS that thinks like an IA?
I'm getting hands on and I need to tap into the pool of experience here..
I'm about to start on a small project where I'm covering multiple roles,
opposed to the usual IA specialism I usualy do - and that includes more of
the implimentation side. For this project I'm going to need a cms system
that can look after a medium site and be used by the usual non techincal
crew. And by small I mean tiny.
I'm aware of many solutions but get a sinking solution each time I start
looking at how the whole site creation process works with each one. The
solution I'm looking for should be low cost (we're talking three figures or
preferably none), with community support and room for expansion.
I've looked at various 'blog' solutions and find them too focused on one
thing. The solution can be php, perl or PC application based but must output
flat HTML - I have control over the server.
And the main thing - are there such a thing as a CMS that does not think in
terms of pages but in terms of a site (all teamsite implimentations I've
seen, for example, have been page focused). In short it's a standard website
with press releases, information on offerings, contact forms and features
that I want to build starting from an IA basis - that is site map and
I'm currently auditioning solutions from...
as well as
Dreamweaver - contribute
Templates and themes I'd like to create in dreamweaver then either import,
or mark up to use with CMS.
Any suggestions to help me save time shifting through the options?
