Same amount of time it'll take search engines to notice our query intent.

On a more hopeful note, over a year ago Apple got a patent whereby the OS
fades out application windows in reverse order of their "freshness." So the
current/more recent windows you're working on are more visible/active and
those you haven't touched in a while are faded, all algorithmically.

On a more technical note, apps themselves have control over how their
windows are layered, get focus, respond to keystrokes or pass them through.

On a more practical note, I find having a single 30" monitor is a decidedly
different and better experience than having two separate monitors, for
menu/cursor/real estate management, etc.
