And that's the way to do it. The "visual aspects" (the style, if you will)
is the by-product of that process of self-definition, not the other way
around.
A typical project scoping conversation:
A: You do branding?
B: What do you have in mind?
A: You know, the logo, type, colors...the look.
Branding is the means to realizing a business goal. It's, after all,
entirely possible to re-brand without re-styling. So any branding that
doesn't first rigorously examine the underlying business model for a
company/product/service is seriously flawed.
