I agree that the number of 'opens' seems like it would be a nice number to
know. It appears, however, that the number of opens is not a number that can
be reliably measured, given that blocking images is getting more and more
common. At any rate, wouldn't the evidence that your copy and design
improved the clickthrough rate require such a significant increase in
clickthroughs that the static of relatively more stable rates of bounces
would not obscure your success?
