Ok, the kind of foundation I envision is similar to what
Euclid did for organizing the way to think about space.
He starts with basic things, like axioms, definitions,
rules, valid procedures, propositions, postulates, basic
assumptions about objects like lines, intersections, etc.

Or take Physics. It allows us to reason about movement
of objects, their internal structure, etc.
