Well, they come to this from a different angle.
They are in the business of estimating actual buying behavior, based on a
mathematical model that converts stated/inferred purchase intentions into
purchasing probabilities, in real-time. So there's a constantly evolving
probability that a user will purchase a product or service at the moment of
any click/query. It gets pretty complex because they're dealing with huge
volumes and a very large variable graph. It's like the PageRank of marketing
behavior.
How you slice and dice all this data makes for a challenging app.:-)
