Usability & Online Forms... How to get the data you need
with Caroline Jarrett

Forms are ubiquitous ... and unpopular. Even the people who design them
don't much like them. But forms collect the data that makes business run,
and they can be the most fascinating and rewarding part of a design project.
If you want users to answer your questions easily and accurately, then forms
that work are essential.

Caroline Jarrett specialises in the evaluation and design of both paper and
web forms as well as the effective implementation of business process that
include forms. She is writing a book about designing forms with Gerry
Gaffney of Information and Design in Melbourne, Australia.

Based on her work with UK government agencies, the Open University in Great
Britain and organizations in several countries, Caroline has developed a
'three-layer model' of the way that forms work. Her model deals with forms
design at the relationship, conversation and appearance levels. Come hear
this popular lecturer and author talk about how her simple model can help
you solve the usability problems associated with forms of all kinds.
