Well, at the recent IA Summit, when Jesse James Garrett referred to
this list as, if I recall his words correctly, "a blight upon the
landscape of Information Architecture", and begged the list owners to
take corrective steps, this is, I believe, precisely the sort of thing
he was talking about. I certainly wasn't the only person there who
applauded his comments.

Personally, I think that George Olsen overreacted a tad to Ziya's
initial "this was discussed before" message, which wasn't particularly
aggressive in tone, I thought. But Ziya more than made up for that
with the vitriol of his subsequent messages, as a result of which I
have finally gotten around to instituting some sender-based filtering.

Still, I would like to repeat Garrett's call for the list owners to
take more aggressive action in instituting and enforcing standards for
professional courtesy, or at least civility, on this list.
