Just to swing the 'conversation' into a different direction. Have you
looked into Flash MX (2004)? It comes with a good deal of pre-installed
GUI components and allows you to create your own components as well.
With its built in ActionScript & Flash Remoting capabilities, tying it
to a backend system may be easier than you think if you are not a strong
developer.
