Carrier Layoffs Spotlight Syracuse's Battle to Rise From Dependence on
Manufacturing

"Chris Farley, a Carrier employee for five years, said the new jobs in
Syracuse usually either pay too little or require skills that workers at
the plant do not have. Fields like biotechnology and information

workers' reach."

reconstructions, cited in a list of needs (or cuts) funds for the
"Information Architecture of the postal system."
