[Sigia-l] HCI - User Interface Design specialist in St. Louis, MO

IconMedialab is looking for a HCI - User Interface Design specialist for
our St. Louis location. A qualified candidate must possess two to four
years experience in applied interaction design and information
architecture, demonstrate working knowledge of human factors,
user-centered design and remain fluent in the best practices in
interface engineering. This person will be invited to join a small but
highly capable interaction design team, evaluating, testing, and
crafting user experiences for next-generation software applications
deployed on the Internet, handheld PDA, tablet PC, and touch screen
kiosks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide expert heuristic analysis of existing user interfaces
- Design highly usable interfaces using keyboard/mouse, pen-based, and
touch screen metaphors
- Plan, coordinate, and document structured usability tests
- Optimize processes with user-centered design concepts
- Lead training classes on usability, interface design, and information
architecture
- Research usability issues as they apply to Internet, handheld PDA,
tablet PC, and touch screen kiosks
- Promote user centered design principles throughout the organization
- Serve as a resource of human factors based knowledge and design

REQUIRED SKILLS
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Human Factors and User-centered
Design
- Degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, HCI, Interaction Design
or
other related field preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Minimum of 2-4 years experience in the field
