Tim bought me dinner a few years ago at a conference so I am
predisposed to liking him.
Tim makes a good point. I have noticed similar things about my
online habits. RSS is changing how I use the net to stay informed.
Two important things from my experience:
- I am an atypical user, but I don't know if I'm atypical in this
case just cause I'm weird or because I'm an early adopter in
this particular realm.
- I am not satisfied with most RSS clients. There is something
missing in the interface. I think there is an opportunity to
design a real winner of a product here through a good UCD
process. Actually, I think there is an opportunity for several
products depending on the market segment.
I totally agree with Tim that RSS is going to be huge. Perhaps the
technical details will change, but the basic idea here won't go
away.
