Interesting question, and I hope someone has some cites to
studies on this.
However, my own experience has been that using "FAQ" or similar
as a hyperlink is somewhat problematic as it is a *format* (i.e.
question/answer) rather than being descriptive of the content of
a particular resource. I've seen links that were labelled simply
"FAQ" that led to information about a company, information about
the company's website, information about the company's hiring
practices, information about a particular product, and so on,
with no way of determining what type of information is there
without clicking. I would rather expect a hyperlink reading
"FAQs about our hiring process" to be more useful than just
"Frequently Asked Questions."
