IBM developerWorks has a nice piece called "Seven tricks that Web users
don't know." First on the list is logos that link to the home page. The
author, Carolyn Snyder talks about research, but I'm sure you could email
and get more details.

I've been a fan of this piece since I first read it and I re-read it when I
