RE: [Sigia-l] Thought I might elicit some responses
On a more optimistic note, Christina and I were at the
very-well-attended Search Engine Strategies conference this week.
It's clear that the people doing search optimization can use many of
the techniques of IA, they just don't know it. So you may want to
consider turning around and selling "searchable sites", and
"conversion" to move people from finding a site via a web search to
becoming customers. We just sat there muttering "IA IA" as they
talked about making focused pages, including navigation and context,
using lively writing, paying attention to site visitors...
Sympathetically,
Avi
