Not to be repetitive, but this is also a good book, although I've
been told some people find it a little academic in places. The author
is one of those rare designer/writer types who's really good at both,
so she's able to think about the integration of words and visuals in
a way that's not often covered in other books that approach things
from one end or the other.
In the same vein Robert E. Horn's "Mapping Hypertext"
<http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0962556505/interactionby-20/104-7774104-5321550>
is also excellent -- and attempts to model what he recommends. Don't
be put off by the clip art, it's actually got some great ideas.
Unfortunately, I found his follow-up "Visual Language" to be a bit
disappointing, although most of the (high-powered) reviewers at
Amazon disagree.
