Chicago and Illinois has heavily embraced the e-gov mantra so there are
number of gov employees, consultants, etc. who do IA part-time. The most
interesting piece/project that has come out of this shift to make the web
friendly and conducive to doing business in Illinois is the Find It!
Illinois portal (http://www.finditillinois.org/). The Illinois State
Library maintains it with the help of the webmasters at the various other
state agenices and numerous other individuals. A thesaurus for government
on the web was created as part of this project and is shared by several
states, including Washington.
This has been a great discussion!
