I just sent a long post to the list about working in Berlin. Although I
wrote that I haven't seen many people here doing what we'd think of as IA, I
didn't mention that I've been really amazed at how quickly the people I'm
working with "get it." Designers, programmers, even project managers to whom
I've explained, say, the what and why of a thesaurus or even facets, have
picked it up really fast, and shot back some genuinely hard and insightful
questions for the project I'm on.
In fact, I even had a database guy here suggest at a kickoff meeting that we
needed to use a controlled vocabulary on the project. I had to pick myself
up off the floor.
