Since we're drifting into books with an interesting IA, I will add:

The Dictionary of the Khazars, a Lexicon Novel, by Milorad Pavic. It is a novel
structured as yes, a lexicon and also a hypertext. Really three lexicons, one
supposedly written by a Jewish author, one by a Muslim author, and one by a
Christian author. It's a gorgeous book (especially the hardcover edition, with every
page printed in two colors so you can see the little colored symbols that tell you
can look a word up elsewhere in the book). Full of wonderful imagery, dream
sequences, magic. Creates quite a surreal atmosphere, or at least it did for me.
Mirrors with delays, words that kill, poison books, dream visitations, poetic
visions,....
