Language is dynamic and (surprise) things have changed since the
first Wired style guide came out. Despite my best efforts to promote
the use of "Web site", my current publisher, Addison-Wesley, insists
on "website." This style guide is now (generally) current for all
publications by Pearson Education (imprints include Simon & Schuster,
Macmillian, Addison-Wesley, Peachpit, New Riders, and many more).
The following Pearson "rules" have been established:
website
web application
the Web (only capitalized with the inclusion of the definite article)
Now the question remains as to whether Polar Bear should be
capitalized...
Best,
Eric
