RE: SIGIA-L: How do you prove IA value on a project AFTER it's finished?

Designers and project managers aren't asked to prove the ROI of their
contribution after a project is done (at least, not in my world). It's just
assumed that, as a part of the team, they share the success or failure of a
project with the whole team.

Why do we need to prove our individual value on a team after a project is
delivered? I understand doing this in the context of trying to establish IA
as part of the process (or maybe in preparing to ask your boss for a
raise), but once it is incorporated into the process and we're included
where we should be and we've done our IA magic to help get the product
out the door, doesn't separating out our contributions send the message
that IA is a distinct and therefore expendable part of the process? If we
are to become a truly integrated part of the process, isn't it better,
post-delivery, to *share* successes or failures with our *integrated*
teammembers? Be a "team player"? Act like we're part of the team that
delivered this great product? Not single ourselves out...? "Whole is
greater than the sum of its parts" sort of thing...?
