SIGIA-L: opening new browser windows...

Hello all,
I am looking for some research/advice with regard to the best way to handle
links which need to open in a new browser window.
The background to this problem is that a tour has been developed using
flash (plus a non-flash alternative). The current set up is that a link on
a static html page launches the tour in a new, smaller browser window.
Within the tour we would like to include URLs of existing websites for
further information, however, I am struggling to find a method of
implementing this that would not totally confuse the user. If clicking on
the link opens another new browser, the tour window would be hidden; you
could end up with a whole host of browser windows open. A better option
might be to load the new page into the already open browser window (from
where the tour was launched). I would appreciate any
thoughts/comments/ideas...!
Thanks,
Janet
