To be honest, I find it a little odd that Seybold has some sort of patent or
trademark on the name (and possibly process) of "Customer Scenario." From
what I understand about it, it's basic common sense to chase after the
customer POV and use that as a map for design, dev and so on - I wasn't
aware that one could put a claim on such things (am I naive?)

Seybold's concept might possess specific ways to actually implement that
mapping and specific tools to collect and capture data for this methodology,
but there can't be much more. Granted, I've not hired or worked with
Seybold's consultants and seen the process occur, but I find it hard to
believe it's something so proprietary. If so, I guess I've been infringing
on their methodology (and Forrester's as well??) for over a year now.

I might be misunderstanding something here. If so, someone please point me
the right way!
