That's amazing. Here in the U.S. the same result holds true - so evidence
suggests it is unrelated to paper size.

This phenomenon is similar to another observed by philosophers. It can be
empirically demonstrated that toilet paper most often tears off the roll
between the perforations, not at them. This implies that the perforations
are stronger than the material itself. Which leads to the conclusion that
"nothing" is stronger than "something." I believe scientists are at work on
a force field device based on this principle.
