I would have to agree with this. In addition, the use of the term
"customer" may further confuse the issue. "Customer" is often equated
with "client" or "client company." Your end users may be any entirely
different group. Your recommendations for usability/interface
design/information architecture may not actually improve your "customer
relationship" either (though we all wish our clients would 'see the
light').
While "User Experience" may not be the most well-known term out in the
industry, Victor's recommendations for following up your group's name
with a short "elevator pitch" might be a better solution.
