I don't think the average user knows anything about the method that the search
engines use, and expect to be able to get the information straight away.
I personally wouldn't go there to search for 'today's news', but I imagine that
many would.
I was interested to see that people would type 'cnn' into a search engine.
Interesting behaviour to remember.

I'm curious if people would go straight to a search engine for current or
historical content? Perhaps history...would you expect the most current
information for something that just happened to appear in the top 10 links
of a search engine within a few moments of it happening?
