The feature story from the April 2001 issue of Design Matters,
the newsletter of the STC Information Design SIG, is now
available online.
Learn what participants like Lou Rosenfeld, Jesse James Garrett, and
Richard Saul Wurman have to say about whether there are
differences between information architecture and information
design.
Read the discussion at http://www.stcsig.org/id/whatis.html or
download the PDF at http://www.stcsig.org/id/dmatters/apr01.pdf.
After you've read what they have to say, consider joining the
discussion at http://www.quicktopic.com/8/H/QSz7gNR2AtV
I'm hoping that this will be an opportunity for folks who normally
only hang on one list (e.g., InfoDesign-Cafe, SIGIA-L, or
aiga-advance to name just a few) to get together and discuss
this. Even if Richard Saul Wurman says these discussions
are "academic and pointless." :-)
