In my mind your initiative is very positive.
I believe that your take on 'standards' is just right.
We probably would all benefit greatly from a 'catalog' of 'best practices'.
What I would like to ask the community about is this:
Would it be possible for any of You to share 'real life' examples of work -
deliverables that You have done?
With the permission from your employer off course.
Next best thing would be 'dummy' examples of deliverables.
The purpose of this would be that we could all see examples of diagramming
and wireframing - and the conventions like the look of boxes, connectors and
other means of expression. This would probably make our common understanding
a bit more concrete, as I suspect that now - when we talk about 'wireframes'
and 'flowcharts' we are not really talking about exactly the same thing.
Precision would enhance the value of
I have been very inspired lately by Garrets exemplary work.
I currently work on a re-do of our in-house visio templates. We would like
to interface better with the IT dept, and so need to find an appropriate
'cut' between IA work and System architect work. Unified Process and Use
Cases are part of that.
Do You think it's inappropriate for us to share our experiences at such a
concrete level?
