RE: SIGIA-L: hifi deliverables/docs make changes harder?

I think Beki makes a good point. I was also jaded early thanks to a
background in advertising design. The likelihood of making changes is a
given in any document that I produce so it doesn't occur to me to ever get
that married to the appearance of it.
While IMHO I think that I produce rather handsome documents, the visual
apeal, to me, comes from the evolution that brought them to the point that
they communicate with their audience and are graphically engaging.
I main reason that I use Visio as my primary tool for both wireframes and
sitemaps has to do with my ability to make changes. My eariy work was done
in Canvas because it's what I was taught to use. But as I found that I
needed to create documents that could be easily edited and easily opened by
other people, I began to explore Visio's use and I'm pretty devoted to it.
That isn't to say that I would like to see something come along that is more
specifically suited to IA. Although people including myself have cobbled
together something like it, I would like to see a tool engineered toward
creating master documents that pull requirements, site-maps, wireframes and
design comps together more seamlessly. (Don't ask me how! I just think it
would be nice, OK!)

Personally, after doing corrections to my graphic design work for 12 years,
I have no problems going into any document and making changes. I think that
is just the graphic designer in me...I like to do it!
