You're right, I should have warned you. My apologies. Also, you didn't
count the extra 3 or 4 minutes to read the qualifying text and sequence
through the pages to the test.
I was aghast that the site would usurp my time like this and then leave
me hanging with a sales pitch. It's a dirty trick IMHO, and part of the
reason this industry is in the mess it's in. I guess I wanted a) to see
if others in this community shared my opinion of this kind of practice
and b) wanted to make sure that I wasn't being an idiot and missing
something.
Since my first email, I have come to find out that they did used to tell
you your basic score and then pitch. They appear to have consciously
altered the UI, my guess being that they're in trouble from a business
perspective and weren't driving sales to the more detailed analysis.
If that's the case, they chose the worst way to try and correct the problem.
