George,
   While all of the books you mention are relevant, I am trying to see if I
can't find some more current information. Having worked at an 'enterprise'
software startup(which has since crashed and burned), I know that we didn't
do any usability testing, although we did do functional tests. As developers
we were basically told to create the UI ourselves, so we did. We could use
it just fine. Surely this can't be the practice at bigger companies?
