TELL ME ABOUT IT! I keep singin' that same song to my clients but it just
doesn't stick. Perhaps I need a more effective and persuasive presentation.
*smirk* One of my current clients nods in agreement when we have
face-to-face discussions about the role of information design within the
organization as well as a billable service to that company's clients.

Post-nodding, I find that my client has had internal discussions and
're-classified' my discipline a few times over. We initially agreed that I
would report directly to the CEO. Then, it was to the head of the creative
department. Now, it's to the project managers. All of this within days and
all without discussing the implications for the business. Wasteful
foolishness!

I need to exercise a great deal of patience with this as the politics are so
great that they all but completely obscure the reason I was brought in to
consult. But there is exciting opportunity for change with this particular
client that is the carrot. *sigh*

That's my gripe for this Sunday night. Now, off to bed.
