My .02 - "best practices" avoids for me the possibly cumbersome bureaucratic
connotations of "standards." It is a fun exercise to think about what the
architecture of such a site would be - how to make it more than another
"usability according to X" and more like "collected, organized, and
practical ditherings of X1, X2, . . ., Xn" ?
I know it is jumping the gun to project a platform; but what about using
Zope and cmf (http://www.zope.org/Members/tseaver/CMF-1.0beta_release)
I am currently trying to organize a Digital Library best practices web site
so this is/would be a nice parallel.
