No way.
That's like saying the less you know about the car you're driving the
better, no need to know how to change a flat, or the oil. While you don't
need to know how to rebuild the transmission, or stuff like that, you
certainly should know how to change a tire.
Designers should know Photoshop and HTML, and more, really as much as
possible.
Plus you make yourself look smarter in meetings with the geeks!
