i do keep an eye on this list for things to include in spark and
IAML...i'm not keeping track formally, but at this stage just watching
what other warez people are using and what they like and don't like
helps. one thing i've learned: details are super important for this
crowd, so until i get to a point where i'm having some implementation of
like 99.8% of the features that people want (and 98% of those features
are implemented just right), it's not going to be too helpful.
so, vizbang has pretty far to go (just in terms of it's maturity as a
piece of software) before it's going to be useful for professional IA
work ... but still, i'm keeping an eye on it.
one way that might help it get there sooner rather than later is if any
of these tools used XML to describe their drawings, so the facilitations
of interoperation between tools is made easier. and, lo and behold...

...i just found another one, and it does (er, claims to) do the
XML-thing! it's linux
only, but it's a start:

i'm not running a linux box right now. i could be soon, but anyone
tries this, i'd love to hear how it looks. bonus points if someone
sends me a chunk of the xml it emits.
i know the having three or four tools that all do different parts of
what you want thing is suboptimal, but i'm hoping at least w/ xml
backends that at least it'll be easier to swap stuff around between
them.
