SIGIA-L: Usability testing and website design for children

I am a web specialist at the Texas Medical Center Library, and my team has
been charged with developing a children’s website for the Museum for Health
and Science. Our only practical experience has been developing sites for
physicians, allied health professionals and the like. I am having a little
trouble finding literature and/or websites with articles for designing
websites for children and usability testing. My searches turn up mostly
children’s website and instruction for kids developing their own websites.

Can anyone give us some direction either directly or by way of literature
and websites on the subject? Any help you can provide would be greatly
appreciated.
