I could have written this letter myself - I am so completely in the same
boat as you! I waited til I was in my 20's to return to college, as a night
student while working for the NYS government, and got a degree in graphic
design. This is what I jokingly call my "computer appreciation degree",
because I learned that until you draw a straight 3 pt line with a t-square
and rapidograph, you can't worship computers properly : ) I graduated in
'94, started web development shortly after in '95, and have recently begun
salivating over the courses I could take now. Like you, I've got this
'veteran old school experience' behind me now and I'm afraid to stop for a
moment in case the youngsters gain ground :o)

But, I'm thinking perhaps I could go back to school in little bits
- take a course per semester that interests me, and maybe that would
juice whatever is yearning for school (I haven't totally forgot what a
nightmare evening college was, though). Have you considered that option?
Perhaps even a certificate program or something? If your goal was to
scratch the itch, and not to get a degree, this might work for you. Its
part of my grand master scheme for the next phase of my career (which might
be sooner than I thought, for those of you interested in the mess I've
gotten into lately *grin*)

Good luck to you - and never stop learning, however it comes!
