I assume you mean InDesign and not some related product I haven't heard
about. I decided to learn InDesign by producing a book with it. The book
has just been printed so I've now seen the whole cycle.

The good news:
It justifies type beautifully without the constant tweeking required with,
say, QuarkXPress.

The interface is reasonable and, if you use Adobe products, familiar.

It allows importing of graphics in native formats (such as Photoshop).

You won't have to deal with a QuarkXPress hardware dongle or anyone who
works for Quark.

It allows export in pdf format.

The bad news:
It runs very slowly on a reasonably fast computer (I was using a beige G3)
and probably not at all on slower ones.

It is a real RAM hog.

I will continue to use it but I suspect that if I were involved more in
production and less in design I wouldn't be happy with it at all.

Gunnar
