SIGIA-L: certification...Work Objects

Gordon,
You bring up a good segueway into a new topic. I have to say that there are
more intangible items related to being an IA compared to producing
deliverables to a group. There's alot of education from what we do...to how
we do it...and understanding product marketing/project management as well as
"playing well with others."
I have a question for everyone...do you feel that usability and IA/design
are one in the same or teams that work in tandem?
Thanks,
Lisa

Ok. Forget the certification issue.
What we should be discussing is:
Which work objects can we produce and how will they help clients and
co-workers in achieving their on-line dreams.
Some work objects:
* wireframe diagrams - page element schematic
* sitemap - physical pages
* siteflow - dynamic info flow
* taxonomy - indexed content map
* labelling issues
* navigation issues
* site metaphor definition
* usability issues...
what else do we do? discuss. :-)
thanks.
