P.S. I find it interesting that in the discussions of prerequisite or
prefered skills for info architects, no one has mentioned the one I have
found most valuable in the people I have worked with. As has been noted,
information architecture requires more skills and depth than can be found in
any one individual. However, few if any firms have the ability to send an
entire team onto a project from start to finish. So one of the essential
skills, beyond whatever background expertise the IA brings to the task, is
an understanding of their own limitations and knowing when to bring in
additional resources from other disciplines.
